Hiccups Be Gone

Here’s a great way to get rid of hiccups. It’s quick and easy and you won’t believe how well it works.

Next time someone has the hiccups, have them do these simple steps and they should be gone almost immediately (no guarantees here but it has always worked for me):

  • Have them to get something to drink
  • Tell them to close their eyes and count backwards from 11 to 2
  • While they have their eyes closed and are counting backwards in their head they are drinking the whole time

That’s it! It’s so easy. I helped two people get rid of their hiccups this week using this technique.

Enjoy!!

Hidden bacteria

The spread of different infections is running rampant these days. I’m sure you’ve heard on the news about the ever increasing amount of MRSA infection that people are getting.

Now, I’m one of those people who washes my hands thoroughly, uses a paper towel to turn off the faucets, and open the doors in public places. I also take off my shoes at the door so I don’t spread whatever I’ve walked on during the day all through the house. Here’s one thing (I’m ashamed to admit) that I didn’t think of until now.

Where do you sit your purse when you come home? On the table, on the counter, on the seat of your car? Think about all the places where you lay your purse down during the day. On public chairs or tables, on the floor, on the floor of your car. You’ve just spread the bacteria that you picked up while you were out into your home or car. That means you’re exposing yourself and your family.

Especially the fabric purses… they hold the most germs and bacteria.

Now I’m not saying you shouldn’t use a fabric purse (I love the Vera Bradley bags!), or that you can’t ever put your purse down. Just take the time to lay a paper towel down or only place them where you know it’s clean. Wipe them off when you pick them up.

It may seem like a hassle but it is a lot less hassle than having a bad infection that’s hard to treat. Think about it!

Health Tip

For those of you who are trying to lose weight and/or get healthy, here’s some good news!

By now, hopefully you know how important it is to fit exercise into your life. The good news is that you don’t have to spend hours a day to achieve benefits.

For example, I recommend walking 30 minutes a day minimum. Some people may say they don’t have an extra 30 minutes per day. I can certainly understand that, even 30 minutes is a lot for someone with a busy schedule.

What if I told you that the 30 minutes doesn’t have to be all at the same time?? Could you fit it in now?!

No excuses, get walking and exercising. Do it in small doses, it makes a big difference!

In good health,

Teri

My Apologies

My sincere apologies ladies, I know it’s been a while since I last posted. My life got a bit out of balance and I had to shift some of my activities.

I recently went back to work after being on 12 weeks maternity leave. Not only that but it was a new job and a full time one at that. I’ve had to reprioritize my time and activities so I could recapture balance in my life. I think I’ve gotten everything to a comfortable routine now and hope to continue adding great information to the blog.

This just goes to show how changes in our lives can get us out of balance. The important thing to do when this happens is to take care of what’s most important first. Take it one step at a time and add things back as you figure out your time and energy.

I can honestly say I’m getting back to the swing of things and enjoying my new schedule.

Have a great 4th of July!!!!

Sincerely,

Teri
