From Mess to Millions

Are you trying to run your business with piles of stuff around you? Do you waste a lot of time looking for things?

Admittedly, I am not a naturally organized person. I found that having all the clutter and the piles drained my energy. I would sit down to get started on a project and immediately get overwhelmed and accomplish nothing.

That’s not thinking like a millionaire.

Now I work from a beautiful, neat, and organized environment. I have beautiful pictures, and of course pictures of my children. My desk is clear except for my computer and a notebook and pen.

Feeling free to be creative and productive has jump started my business.

Now that’s having a millionaire mindet :-)

Yours in HAPPYness and Success!

HAPPY When Bad Things Happen

I had to put my cat to sleep recently. I am so sad. I miss him so much. I cried for days.

SO, you’re probably wondering why I’m sharing this on a blog about HAPPYness and being a successful entrepreneur.

Being HAPPY does not mean that you walk around bubbly and giggling 24/7. It does mean that even when bad things happen, you still feel inner peace and happiness.

Even though I felt a lot of grief over the loss, at the same time I am so grateful for the time I had with him.

When you focus on Health Abundance Passion Purpose and You, you can handle the good and the bad. Life will give you good and bad experiences. It is the bad ones that help you appreciate the good.

When you’re struggling with your business or your life, having trouble managing it all, take a look at all you have to be grateful for. Appreciate all you’ve been given.

Remember, we are only given a certain amount of time in this life. Spend YOUR time being HAPPY.

To Do List

As a busy woman entrepreneur, you undoubtedly have a neverending To Do List. Everything from taking care of the kids and family, home management, and running your business. Whew, I’m tired just writing about it.

With an ever growing list of things to do it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Here is my suggestion for making the process of tackling the To Do list fun.

Whenever I read people suggestions about conquering the To Do list it always suggests tackling the biggest thing on the list first. That way you won’t need as much energy to tackle the small things. Doesn’t sound like much fun to me. My goal is to be HAPPY!

Instead, look at your to do list and see what are the small, easy, quick to do things. Pick one of them and just do it. Once it’s done, revel in your accomplishment, no matter how small. Do it again with something else small and easy on your list. Bask in the satisfaction of that accomplishment.

Do you see what I mean? It’s so much more rewarding this way. And, after each accomplishment, you’ll be more jazzed to do something else. If you get a whole bunch of things on your list done, go treat yourself to a great magazine or hot bubblebath.

See, the To Do list can be fun.

Enjoy!!

Fabulousness

When was the last time you celebrated your fabulousness?

I celebrated it today along with my friend Sheri. She was celebrating her Sheriness and I was celebrating my Teriness.

Choose to celebrate and appreciate being you. You are the only you in the world. There is no one else exactly like you. Do you realize how special that makes you?

Today, say I will celebrate my ness! Just put your name in front of ness and be proud of who you are.

Energy Sappers

Have you ever heard of an energy sapper? Basically, energy sappers are things or people in your life that drain your energy.

For example, have you ever had a light out in your car? Instead of taking care of it right away you say to yourself, “oh, I’ll take care of that this weekend”. The weekend comes and gos and you forget about it. But every time you get in your car you notice that the light is out and you think to yourself, “oh, I forgot to change that light, I’ve got to take care of that”. But still you don’t take care of it right away. Every time you get in your car, you are sapping a bit of your energy.

As a successful woman, you probably don’t have extra energy to waste away on something like this. You need your energy for the important things in your life.

There are so many things that sap your energy: clutter, diet, lack of sleep, people, stress, disorganization, just to name a few. I believe that gaining balance in your life by getting rid of these tolerations is so important and plays such a vital role in your success that I am going to be talking about this subject a lot.

In the meantime, jot down the energy sappers in your life and the things you are tolerating. We’re going to zap these energy sappers away so you can focus on what’s really important: you and your success!

Self Care

As women, we tend to take care of everyone else at the expense of ourselves. Do you find this to be true too? If we truly value the people we care about, we need to first take care of ourselves.

One way that successful women take great care of themselves is by keeping up with preventive care appointments. When was the last time you had your teeth cleaned? Have you ever gone to a dermatologist to have a full exam? Don’t forget about the annual eye appointments.

As a successful woman, you know that what makes you successful is that you make smart decisions and don’t wait until there’s a problem to be fixed. You prevent the problem from happening in the first place.

People get regular oil changes in their car, a form of preventive care. Do you treasure your body and your health as much as you treasure your car? Remember, your vehicle is replaceable, but you only get one you!

February is the month of love. Remember to love yourself as much as you love the important people in your life. You can start by taking good care of yourself. You’ll be glad you did :-)

New Year

Happy New Year! Have you made your new year resolution yet? I have, but I wouldn’t call it a resolution. I am always working on myself to improve my life and make things easier and more pleasing. It’s been an ongoing process but I intend to have a home that is organized, clean, and efficient.

One thing that successful women know is that when you have a lot of stuff around it saps away your energy. You lose time looking for missing items and the overall appearance makes you feel tired and frustrated. But when you have everything organized and keep things in their place, you feel energized by your surroundings and feel joy and peace being at home.

I am not naturally an organized person. It is definitely a work in progress for me but the key thing that made things easier was getting rid of all the stuff. When you clear out space by getting rid of unused items and piles of paper, you open up that space for good things to come. I’m not sure why it works but I believe it has something to do with energy. Energy gets stifled by all the junk around so when you open up the space, the energy can flow more freely.

There’s another upside to getting rid of unused items too. It feels great to donate to those who need these things more than you do. If you have items in your home that are sitting around taking up space, why not let someone else have them so they can get enjoyment and benefit from them. The tax deduction is also a nice perk.

I feel so strongly that getting organized is such an important topic that I will be conducting a teleclass on the subject and of course am available to help you in your quest for a happy home. Check the website for upcoming teleclasses and workshops. It’s a lot easier to conquer the mess when you have someone to support you. www.systemsinbalance.com/events.html

I am so excited to start out the new year with so much promise. Our community of successful women is going to do so much to help each other achieve what is most important in life. I look forward to getting 2008 off to a great start and hope you will join us and do the same.

Have a happy and prosperous New Year!!!!!

Success for Women

Welcome to What Successful Women Know! I am so excited to have this blog because this is such a great and important topic… women and success. There are many successful women out there and others who are striving to be a success. Success means different things to everyone so in this case, it’s not about how much money you make or what kind of house you live in or car you drive. At the same time, for some women, these are very much a part of what determines success.

Overall I think that success is having the financial security or freedom to live your life and not be stressed every month about having to pay the bills. It’s about having time to spend with family and friends and truly be there in the moment. Your home is neat and organized and is decorated the way that makes you feel good to be at home. You eat nutritious food and have an active lifestyle that incorporates exercise and fitness on a regular basis. You enjoy the fact that you get plenty of rest and wake up feeling refreshed and energized every day. You love what you do whether it is being a corporate executive or a stay at home mom.

The list could go on and on but the main idea here is that success is what you think it is. You can create the life you desire and be truly happy. This is what I call success.

I invite you to please post your definitions of success and feel free to share your stories. This blog is about abundance so share your wisdom and thoughts. Let’s share in the wealth of successful women together.
